Dainik Jagaran’s Jagaran Chowk - A Commercial Advantage for cheap
Posted on May 12th, 2007 at 8:10 am by Ashutosh

Last week one of the leading media house in Dehradun viz. Dainik Jagaran gave its name to a small traffic intersection point near its printing press. The traffic joint on Saharanpur Road near New Sabzi Mandi, Niranjanpur was named as “Jagaran Chowk” in the presence of political dignitaries. The inauguration was done by no other than the State Chief Minister Shri B. C. Khanduri. The efforts of the Dainik Jagaran for lending a helping hand to the local traffic police in disciplining and managing the traffic through this was admired by one and all.

But the point to be noted here is that what Dainik Jagaran has done to organise the traffic? It has just placed a small shelter for a traffic policeman in the middle of the road which would have cost it some couple of thousand bucks, thats it. And in return it was obliged by naming the point after its name! In the deal, society hasn’t got much in return, infact its the media house who has got its identity and brand recognization for cheap. What a gesture of charity! Long live Charity!!!
