On April 11, Century College’s Student Senate won two major awards at the Minnesota State College and Student Association (MSCSA) general assembly. The awards were presented by the president of MSCSA, Kayley Schoonmaker. Our Senate received the Star Campus and Advisor of the Year awards, provided to them onstage in the ballroom at Breezy Point Resort.

The Star Campus award is given annually to Campuses that have fulfilled at least ten of its twelve requirements. Among other stipulations, this entailed visiting legislators at the capital, partnering with another campus for an event and registering some 600 voters during Century’s Get out the Vote campaign.

The Advisor of the Year award was presented to Jennifer Rassett, who in addition to serving as advisor to the Student Senate, also works as the school’s Associate Director of Student Life.

The Senate recently elected a new executive board, and is likely to hold a Senatorial election in the coming semester.
