Last week was Century’s LGBTQ+ Pride week, which included many different events sprinkled around campus. One of these events was a drag show and dinner located in the Lincoln Mall, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Century College’s LGBTQ+ Center.
On Tuesday, April 23rd, six unique drag performers took the stage with their stunning outfits and dancing. The performers who were featured included Bad Karma, Rustina Phoenix Nuttz, JoJo Ventus Ninja, ChaChi Cassadine, ButterCream, and Mercedes Iman Diamond. Each performer had two different sets with beautifully executed themes. A couple of my personal favorites were a Dolly Parton theme done by ButterCream, a Barbie theme performed by Bad Karma, and a gothic vampire-like theme done by JoJo Ventus Ninja.
The incredible energy of the drag show was enough to make me look forward to any future events that the LGBTQ+ Center may plan. I encourage anyone who’s interested to attend events like these in the future, especially if you’re a part of the LGBTQ+ community.
